Choii!! FORTY-SEVEN Indian brides and grooms get married in mass wedding
The 47 Indian Muslim brides all wore traditional peach saris with a covering veil as they sat waiting for the ceremony in Ahmedabad to begin. They sat excitingly chatting next to each other as religious helpers put their fingerprints on wedding documents while the grooms watched nearby.
The act signified the bride’s agreement to the wedding in front of a relative – a ritual known as the ‘Nikah Kabool Hai’ or ‘Do You Agree for the Marriage’ section. The grooms were all dressed in traditional outfit, but one of the men couldn’t resist making a quick mobile call for last-minute advice.
